Installing a VoyageSIM eSIM on a Samsung
Follow this step-by-step guide to easily install your VoyageSIM eSIM on a compatible Samsung phone.
- Samsung model compatible with eSIM (e.g. Galaxy S20 / Note 20 / Z Flip / Z Fold or newer)
- Android 9.0 or later
- Active Wi-Fi connection
- eSIM VoyageSIM purchased (QR code received by email)
1. Prepare your VoyageSIM eSIM
- Open the VoyageSIM email containing your eSIM.
- Display the QR code on another device (computer, tablet) or print it out.
- Make sure the Samsung phone is properly connected to Wi-Fi.
💡 You can install your eSIM before departure: the plan only starts when you are in the destination country.
2. Install the eSIM manually using the QR code
- Open Settings → Connections .
- Go to SIM card manager (or SIM cards depending on the model).
- Tap Add a mobile plan .
- Choose Add via QR code .
- Scan the VoyageSIM QR code with your phone's camera.
- Follow the on-screen instructions until the eSIM profile is added.
💡 Keep the QR code stable and well lit to facilitate reading.

- In Settings → Connections → SIM card manager , select your primary SIM card.
- Disable it or remove it from the default mobile data settings.
- Make sure that the VoyageSIM eSIM is selected as the card for mobile data .
⚠ This step prevents your phone from accidentally connecting to your home network abroad.
5. Activate your VoyageSIM eSIM
- In Settings → Connections → SIM card manager , select the VoyageSIM eSIM.
- Activate the “Activate this SIM card” option.
- In the data settings, choose VoyageSIM as the primary source for mobile data.
6. Enable “Data Roaming”
- Go to Settings → Connections → Data usage .
- Select your VoyageSIM eSIM.
- Enable “Data roaming” .
⚠ Without roaming enabled, the eSIM will not be able to connect to the network of the country visited, even if it is correctly installed.
ℹ️ Roaming is already included in your VoyageSIM plan: no additional charges will be added.
7. Configure the APN if the connection is not working
- Open Settings → Connections → Mobile networks .
- Go to Access Point Names (APN) .
- Press Add or the “+” sign.
- Fill in only:
- Name: VoyageSIM
- APN: data.esim
- Leave the other fields blank.
- Save, then select this new APN as the active profile.
⚠ This step is only necessary if the internet connection does not work after installation and activation.
8. Finalization and testing
- Restart your phone after installing the eSIM and configuring the APN if necessary.
- Upon arrival in the country, wait a few minutes for the phone to connect to the local network.
- Test a website or application that requires internet access.
