Which iPhones support eSIM?

Your iPhone must also be unlocked to use a plan from another provider. Always verify the exact model in Settings and Apple's information for your region.
How does Apple eSIM work while travelling?
An eSIM downloads a cellular profile to the iPhone. On a Dual SIM-compatible model, your regular line can remain available for calls and texts while the travel eSIM provides data. The iPhone uses only one cellular data network at a time. Calls, texts and roaming options on the primary line may still incur charges under your carrier's terms.
How to install an eSIM on iPhone
- Connect the iPhone to reliable Wi-Fi.
- Open Settings → Cellular, then choose Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code you received or use another method provided in your email.
- Label the line “VoyageSIM” so it is easy to identify.
- At your destination, select VoyageSIM for mobile data and follow the plan's roaming instructions.

Apple eSIM and your Canadian line
You can often keep your Canadian number on a Dual SIM iPhone. Turn off data roaming on the primary line if you do not want it to provide internet access, and check cellular data switching. A line left active can still receive or place calls and texts under your plan, with possible charges.
