Azores Portugal eSIM: mobile data on São Miguel and Terceira
The Azores are part of Portugal, and trips can include São Miguel, Terceira, Pico or Faial. A Portugal travel eSIM is a possible starting point, but the specific plan's partner networks must support the islands you intend to visit.

VoyageSIM sells a Portugal eSIM, including a 1 GB / 7-day plan listed at CAD $5.50. We have not confirmed coverage in the Azores for this particular plan. Verify the partner networks and individual islands before purchasing specifically for the archipelago.
Will the same plan work on São Miguel and Terceira?
Portuguese carriers operate networks in the Azores, but their presence does not prove that a particular international eSIM can connect. The eSIM's roaming partners and destination terms matter.
If you are island-hopping between São Miguel and Terceira, request coverage confirmation for both. Mountainous terrain on Pico, Faial and more remote trails can also affect reception.
How much mobile data should you plan?
For light maps, bookings and messages, 1 GB can be enough for a week. More frequent photo uploads, navigation and hotspot sharing may require a bigger allowance.
Download hiking routes, viewpoint directions and offline maps before day trips. Use accommodation Wi-Fi for large backups and software updates.
Set up before your Azores vacation
Use an unlocked phone that supports eSIM. Setup instructions arrive by email, with validity rules specific to your plan.
Until Azores partner-network access is confirmed, do not rely on this eSIM as your only connection. Keep essential details offline. VoyageSIM plans provide data, not traditional voice calls or SMS.
