Miami eSIM – Mobile Data for Your Florida Trip
Travelling to Miami from Canada? A data eSIM lets you use maps, messaging, bookings and transportation as soon as you arrive, without replacing your physical SIM. VoyageSIM plans are priced in Canadian dollars, with support in English and French.
One eSIM for Miami, Miami Beach and PortMiami
The USA plan is designed for travel around Miami Beach, South Beach, Brickell, Wynwood, Little Havana, Miami International Airport (MIA) and the PortMiami cruise terminals. Coverage and speed depend on the local network, your device and congestion, so 5G is not guaranteed everywhere.
How much data should you choose?
| Usage | Suggested range | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Light | 1–3 GB | Google Maps, WhatsApp, email and bookings |
| Regular | 5–10 GB | Social media, music and daily navigation |
| Heavy | 20 GB or more | Video, video calls and hotspot use |
These ranges are estimates. Video streaming and tethering use substantially more data than messaging or maps.
Install your eSIM before departure
- Confirm that your phone is eSIM-compatible and unlocked.
- Choose a USA plan for the length of your trip.
- Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi using the iPhone guide or the Android instructions provided.
- After arrival, select VoyageSIM for mobile data and enable data roaming on that line only.
You can keep your Canadian line for your usual number, but turn off roaming data on that line to reduce the risk of carrier charges. Do not delete the eSIM until your trip is over.
At the airport and cruise port
Installing before departure makes it easier to connect after landing at MIA or arriving at PortMiami. The mobile plan works on land where a partner network is available. It does not replace a ship’s maritime Internet service and may not work at sea.
Frequently asked questions
Does the plan include calls and texts?
VoyageSIM plans are primarily data plans. Calls and messages can use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Messenger or another Internet app.
Can I keep my Canadian number?
Yes. A dual-SIM phone can generally keep the primary line active for calls and SMS while the eSIM handles data. Check possible charges with your carrier.
When should I activate the plan?
Install the eSIM before departure. Plan activation varies by product; follow the instructions delivered after purchase.
